Audience Analysis (Save The Country)
During the 1960s they were protesting
racism and the Vietnam War. “Save
The Country” was targeted to those who were against the war. The lyrics are catchy and appeal to those
who listen to popular music. Nyro
intended to incite her audience and unite them against the Vietnam War with her
patriotic lyrics. The audience of “Save
the Country,” mostly anti-war hippies, will connect with the song’s lyrics and
message because of their ideals. The song “Save The Country” by
Laura Nyro was released in 1969. The 1960s was a time of social reform and
change. Many artists shared their opinions

Great audience analysis! but I do not understand who "they" are? Who were protesting racism and Vietnam War?
ReplyDeleteI think this is a pretty good audience analysis. However, I don't think the audience is necessarily hippies. While I audience is most definitely the anti-war side I don't think everyone who was anti-war was a hippie.
ReplyDeleteYou do not have to be a hippie to protest against a war. Many family members and loved ones are affected and there is no particular stereotype that needs to be involved in the reluctance of violence.
